This:

The dilemma is solved once and for all by the overthrow of the state power of the capitalists, the creation of a transitory working-class state, and the establishment of a democratically-planned economy that utilizes the potential inherent in every person – regardless of who they are or where they come from – to construct a more prosperous and just society to meet the needs of all, paving the way as it would toward the elimination of classes and even the workers’ semi-state.

If we can't do it through taxation then this is what we're left with. Smart rich folks realize this (like Buffett and others) and are begging the state to tax them. We need to oblige them or prepare for what will come next. It is going to get worse - the jobs that are gone will not be coming back. Plus, fighting to bring jobs back just impoverishes more folks in other countries. Bottom line, it is simply not ethical to have billionaires on this planet while others are hungry and homeless. One way or another this needs to change.

And as we've discussed many times, your logical solution is in reality only a half measure. "...solved once and for all..." means exactly that. Any reforms of capitalism using any measures short of a revolution that destroys the entire system is doomed to failure either in the short or long term. That's been proven over and over again throughout history.

Reforming capitalism is like riding a tiger. It's hard to do and you're always in danger of being eaten. Thanks again for reading and your astute comments.
