An OJ Documentary wins over 13th and I am Not Your Negro? Really?

I'm sorry, but I've got a lot of problems with this. 13th and I Am Not Your Negro were two of the best and most critically important documentaries in a very, very long time. Cannot at all say the same for an OJ documentary and it's irritating.

And WTF is the deal with OJ lately, what with the recent cable miniseries and this documentary? That horse is so dead it was turned into glue years ago. Again, really annoying.

It really made all of the historical connections and wove them together in ways that most people wouldn't have even thought of, and it was expertly done. It is so relevant to our time.

And that is correct about the reason for the continuing, and tiresome, obsession over OJ. Gotta keep that stereotype of the "big bad black man" alive and kicking, especially now with Drumpf's and his goons in charge.

I think I read that he is up for parole in October.

I didn't know that, and I don't really care, frankly. Sick to death of hearing about him, but my fellow whites keep wanting to point to him whenever the subject of police brutality and criminal justice reform comes up. Sickening.

I admit that I didn't know much of anything about him, beyond seeing his commercials and movies.

So I watched the ESPN series about him (I think it was on ESPN) and found it to be VERY interesting and it sure enlightened me on what kind of a person he is.

Fame can be a disaster, for some people.

Oscars are a popularity contest. Note that they boycotted the mainstream Nat Turner movie due to rape charges. That was one of the best movies EVER made in my opinion. That was annoying.

I didn't even know that and I'm pretty current on movies, usually. I'd like to see that movie.

The Making of OJ really dove deep into the racism that created the verdict. It was a "time capsule" they opened. And the wounds continue to get ripped open.
