Suicide Squad Director David Ayer To Direct Gotham City Sirens For Warner Bros.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Suicide Squad helmer David Ayer will direct Gotham City Sirens, a project that will feature Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and additional female villains from the world of DC Comics.

According to the trade, Geneva Robertson-Dworet will pen the script. The writer is best known for her work on Warner Bros. and MGM’s Tomb Raider reboot starring Alicia Vikander and Walton Goggins, plus Sherlock Holmes 3.

Ayer will also produce the project, which has Robbie on board as an executive producer. The two heads of DC’s film arm, DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns and Jon Berg, will also be involved in a producorial role.

Plot details are scarce at the moment, but there’s a chance that we could see characters from the DC comic book series Gotham City Sirens such as Catwoman and Poison Ivy alongside Robbie’s Harley Quinn.

In addition, THR reveals that Warner Bros. is still developing a sequel to this summer’s Suicide Squad, which earned $745 million at the worldwide box office. The studio is also “looking into” a Deadshot spin-off movie starring Will Smith.

or most other kinds of -washing, but I hope they keep Ivy and Harley's relationship completely straight. The thought of an insecure dudebro like Ayer trying to handle that relationship gives me a low key sense of dread.
