Z-Nation Season 3 - Disjointed episodes?

The first two episodes of Season 3 involved a two parter that had the crew interacting with a camp of survivors that included four mutants that carried a virus that protecting them from becoming zombies, but also turned them into deformed mutants. This turned into a side plot as the main storyline involved a bald-headed, well dressed bounty hunter that was collecting scientists for some old guy who lived in the mountains. By the end, he prevails.

In those two first episodes, Murphy and 10K were still part of the team. There was talk of a new mission, but I don't recall 10K being under Murphy's zombie spell.

Then, in episode 3 of Season 3 we appear to have changed the basic facts. Episode 3 is the seamless progression from the cliffhanger in Season 2. We learned that 10 K was, indeed, bitten by Murphy and is under his command. And Warren's group is estranged from Murphy and includes two new characters.

I am guessing that the only clue we have that the timeline for the first two episodes preceded the Season 2 cliffhanger was at the beginning of the show when Doc said it was a flashback.

In sum, it's a very confusing way to connect the fact that the bald-headed bounty hunter is now after Murphy.

... Thinking I might be the only Z Nation fan here. Although I am still a little confused I think the plot will iron itself out in the near future. I am a huge Walking Dead fan mainly because of the human story rather than the zombie story, but Z Nation manages to combine both with a sense of humor that is very appealing to me. I got a huge kick out of the rolling ball of starving zombies. Quirky.

I like the characters. They do an outstanding makeup and special effects job with a fraction of the budget TWD has.
