Just fill it in the names and there are links to the picture on the page. Quite easy. I wish the electoral vote maps were this easy to post

(17,376 posts)In the CONUS I'm missing a block of republican states. ID, MT, WY, ND, SD and NE. I'm also missing MN.
I'm missing those states not because of politics, but because my travel west of the Mississippi was for work and there were no vendors there for equipment we needed.

(3,072 posts)I've lived in 7 different states all over the country and one thing I have learned is that you can't assume a place is nice just because its liberal (or terrible because its hardcore republican) and you can't trust stereotypes about places. Saint Paul was probably the must backward, judgemental place I have lived and also felt pretty dangerous. And yet I have lived in Cleveland and Detroit, never had any issues walking around downtown late at night and I have lived in Salt Lake City and San Antonio, and yet the people are far more accepting than liberal haven Saint Paul/Minneapolis.
You learn a lot about people traveling around.

(14,270 posts)Sorry you had a bad experience.
Spoiler alert: i moved away from there today. It was a career move that caused it, not the people. As of tonight, i am in Kansas.
I have been to 27 states and all have been very nice. This is a great country.

(17,376 posts)I suspect that the non-liberal areas are tough if you are poor.

(17,376 posts)Does that count? All I remember is rushing from a gate at one end of the airport to one at the other end only to have the gate changed again.

(36,216 posts)And Mississippi is kinda iffy; I drove straight through the state, but never took a step in the actual state.

(135,425 posts)I'll be visiting three that I've not yet been to next month, which will fill out the map nicely...but I will still have a few to go after that!
If I count airports, I'd do much better but I figure I ought to at least have seen something in the state for it to count!

Thanks to job interviews, relocations, and a very long on-the-road vacation at age 12, I've at least stayed overnight in 34 states, and visited (beyond just driving through) 3 more.

(53,339 posts)This thread got me thinking about all my cross-country drives. I thought it was fewer, but it's actually 8 or 9, including the two that were for nearly 3 months each--one racking up 9.500 miles and the other 7,500.
For our young ones here I heartily recommend motoring across the country at least once in your life.
