It's not one of the "smart" ones, but I get a great HD picture.

I had a Sony that only lasted four years. I have had my Samsung for almost six and it is working fine.

Just had a repair done on my 15 year old Kenmore washer. Before the repair man appointment I went out to look at new ones just in case. But the repair guy said stick with what I have as long as it's still doing the job. Said new ones don't last half as long.

The repair was for the safety switch that wasn't connecting anymore with the lid when the washer went into spin cycle. So no spin cycle. The replacement part total was $63 including tax. But the diagnostic fee and labor was $159. Diagnostic took 10 seconds. He stuck a screwdriver into the slot where the safety switch is and didn't hear a click. Repair took 1/2 hour.

Total bill $222. But I guess after 15 years that's not too bad.

Sea air plays havoc with flat screens, I'm told.

(I live in AZ, so I don't have firsthand experience).
