As death, when we come to consider it closely, is the true goal of our existence, I have formed during the last few years such close relationships with this best and truest friend of mankind that deaths image is not only no longer terrifying to me, but is indeed very soothing and consoling, and I thank my God for graciously granting me the opportunity of learning that death is the key which unlocks the door to our true happiness. I never lie down at night without reflecting that - young as I am I may not live to see another day. Yet no one of all my acquaintances could say that in company I am morose or disgruntled.
-Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

(31,382 posts)3. The cottage in which Mozart wrote The Magic Flute
is located in the gardens of the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg.
It was not open to the public at the time, but my husband--who wrote a psychoanalytic paper about The Magic Flute many years ago--
talked his way in to seeing it when we were there in November of 2013. Apparently it is open during the summer when they are holding concerts
at the Mozarteum.
I was struck by your photo and thought you might like to see this (the cottage, not my husband looking goofy)!
