Just curious as to how many of us here are introverts or extroverts? I'm and introvert though

Last edited Thu Mar 22, 2012, 11:15 PM - Edit history (1)

because of a learning disability I converse better in a crowd unlike most introverts. Prefer the company of people I know very well.

3. Borderline.

If you go by the tests. I'm not really much of either. I'm an extrovert who needs a lot of alone time; the guy who likes being the invisible quiet guy in a room full of people. I like people, I like people-watching, I need to be around people to be comfortable, I am not social.

5. I would classify myself like that too

I once needed to be the center of attention but as I've aged and have less to prove I really don't like all the parties and hangers on anymore. I guess once an extrovert always one, but people wear me out these days. I have a high contact job which requires me to schmooze a lot, so once work is done I love turning off the phone and locking the door behind me. Like you, I'll go where the crowds are simply to watch...an activity which never gets boring.

I suppose you could call folks like us jaded extroverts, right?

15. I have never wanted to be the center of attention but

I am totally comfortable in a crowd and still get energized by being out socially. However, I do need some down time and I love alone time. I think it's because I can't get enough alone time!

A jaded extrovert is a pretty accurate description!

4. Total introvert

That is probably why I do not mix it up with anyone here if I
can help it.

12. as I get older and life takes nicks out of me, I may test as an E but behave more as an I

right now I am giving lots of heirloom tomato garden talks - I love being in front of a crowd as long as I know what I am talking about...but do get quite exhausted from them and veg out for a long period afterward!

7. both

I can be a total antisocial hermit for long periods of time, even getting close to agoraphobic, then I will force myself to go out and I can be pretty obnoxious and gregarious then. Unless I am put on the spot by public speaking or something like that. Sometimes I get real jabbery with the cashiers in town when I have been hermiting a lot. they shouldn't ask the generic "how are you today?" because sometimes I will skip the polite "fine, and you" actually go into a long spiel answering the question

9. I do well in public.

Good public speaker, good at making friends, good at putting people
at ease and making people laugh.

I also "schmooze" for a living. I've been a "salesman" all of my life.

That said, I MUCH prefer being alone, or with my family, to being around people.

I HATE crowds and avoid them where possible.

I'm an extroverted introvert.

I usually score INFJ.

"Despite their refined tastes, INFJs are typically not pretentious or excessively serious individuals. They regularly enjoy spending time with other people, listening to music, and watching movies (especially “classics”). Perhaps more than anything, INFJs love spending time engrossed in meaningful conversation. Because of their verbosity and enjoyment of others’ company, they can easily be mistaken for Extraverts."

on the people I'm with.

Strangers or people I don't know well...introvert

Family or good friends...extrovert

17. Introverted, definitely. But not shy!

I feel like I'm always explaining to people that "introverted" is not a synonym for "shy."

19. I'm not sure. If it's got to be one or the other, I'll say introvert then

I'm not uneasy around others, but I can take being amidst people in small doses. Definitely need my own space and my own time. I know ( through others I like being around ) that some consider me aloof: but that's just because I have no use for them or their overly type-A persona's. They wear me out and I can't stand being around them.

20. Total INTP.

Very comfortable in my own company. Live out in the middle of nofrickingwhere. If I could get out further I would. Being around people takes a lot out of me, so I don't do it very often.

21. Introverted extrovert

I rarely socialize, but when I do I'm at ease around people. I forget about myself and find myself focusing on the people I'm with - in other words, I'm not self-conscious, and because I'm not, I don't feel awkward and can join in on conversations easily. But I prefer being home reading or playing with my dogs or arguing with Mr. froggy about which day it was the week before that we'd gone shopping for groceries at Safeway in Rapid City and found that great bargain on canned green beans, or something else worthy of discussing.
