But, I have to restrain myself from OVER-watering.

I don't mind hand-washing the dishes--as long as there aren't mountains of them.

There is a definite sense of satisfaction cleaning the lint trap. One, because you know it's a fire hazard otherwise, but also because it's validation that something is happening in the dryer besides just drying. All that dog hair/cat hair/whatever is being removed from the clean clothes

Everything smells so nice and fresh.

(I like to clean out the lint trap too! There should be a use for that nice, clean lint. hehehe)

assemble our various supplements, get out the cereal....my wife smells the coffee and joins at just the right time. Just perfect.

(whoops...posted this as a response to a thread post, not the OP...which is where I meant it to go! Clearly bed time for me!)

Bunny the Cat and Pidge the Parrot both expect a very specific coffee making and feeding morning ritual. The dogs aren't up yet and it's our time to snuggle, talk and get jacked on caffeine. Oh, and check the email and check in with FB and DU.

The best part of waking up is cathair in your cup.

7. Ironing. Seriously

I'm one of the last of a breed - people who iron their clothes. I iron one or two pieces of clothing every morning. It's my way of starting the day by getting one thing to come out smoothly. And - ironing is very meditative.

When the boys were little and needed a shirt for an awards' night or something, I might drag it out. I don't have an ironing board so...

My mother LOVES to iron and it's obviously something not passed down to me.

Usually just wiping all the keys and poking out lint and crumbs with a thin toothpick, turning the keyboard over and tapping bits out. I always liked removing splinters from my friends when I was a kid, a similar task.
For thorough cleanings, which we've only done once each, I made a diagram of this apple keyboard, and my son took a photo of his. All of the keys were popped off and tossed in a bucket of soapy water, washed, and dried on a towel. When all inner clips were dry I put them back on.

but the thing I like better than that is untangling stuff.

Necklaces...shoelaces...yarn...

Especially the necklaces. There's something gratifying about undoing those pesky metal knots.
