Name a longtime supporting actor/actress who deserves a leading role in a major movie or show.

Watching John Carroll Lynch in the most recent episode of The Walking Dead, I was really impressed with his acting abilities. He's been playing supporting roles forever. I loved him as Norm in Fargo. He did a great job in American Horror Story. And he stood out in several other projects as well.

I'd love for him to go the J.K. Simmons route. For years, he played many supporting roles where his performance was more memorable to people than his name. Finally, his dues were paid and he got one of the leads in Whiplash, and was rewarded with an Oscar for his performance (okay, so it was technically still a Best Supporting Actor award, but honestly he owned that movie).

But he certainly deserves many more leading roles as well.

Another great actor I discovered first from Fargo.

It might not quite reach the elite level bar set by The Sopranos, The Wire, and Breaking Bad, but it's still quite solid with lots of good writing and acting. Binge away!

He deserves recognition for a solid body of work---beyond that classic "Well.......bye" line in "Tombstone."

She's beautiful, sexy, appealing, and a good actress. She started out in commercials in the eighties, and graduated to some supporting roles, and one or two leads in second-rate movies. She's now in a sitcom playing the 'gorgeous wife inexplicably married to an oafish dolt' role.

But she's never really had a good breakout lead role. She deserves one.

Agreed she ought to have more leading roles. Good actress.

He was great in The Wire (as Ziggy Sobakta) and in Generation Kill.

He's still relatively young but I wish his career had exploded by now.

But her work on Big Bang Theory definitely deserves more starring roles going forward. She's very funny.
