I found a partial bottle way back in the cupboard and I don't know how old it is, but I'm sure it's been there a few years. I don't see any date on the bottle and there's no warning about refrigeration. Do I have some in my coffee or pass?

(8,767 posts)In Fall 1985 rented a room in a house on Grizzly Peak Road in Berkeley and the first thing I did was paint before moving in.
The house was older and funky and had two drawers below a double closet.
Upon removing the drawer to more readily paint the front piece, I discovered a false divide and behind the divide was four bottles of Kahlua and two bottles of mezcal. The Kahlua bottles were so old that the red clothe broke apart on touch. The bottles of liquor were in Spanish and from Mexico but otherwise were essentially the same presentation that one sees today when one buys Kahlua..
Just learned something from wiki Kahlua (as could not recall brand name of Kahlua):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kahl%C3%BAa
"Pedro Domecq began producing Kahlúa in 1936"
Think my age in title was about right but theory of age at the time was wrong as prohibition was over in 1933.
We in the house surmised that the liquors and why hidden were because of prohibition.
The seals on the bottles were fine and we drank the liquors with good effect except one of us who drank to severe hangover.
