http://www.famousbirthdays.com/september22.htmlNational Ice Cream Cone Day Ice Cream Cone Day seeks to draw attention to the invention of the ice cream cone; an important, yet sadly often overlooked, invention that allows people to enjoy delicious ice cream combined with a handily portable and edible wafer cone, often whilst out and about. Just imagine what the world would look like without an ice cream cone. No 99s, ice cream would have to be eaten with a bowl, and ice lollies would dominate! https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/ice-cream-cone-day/
White Chocolate Day White chocolate is a relatively new arrival to the chocolate market, having only been invented and introduced (in Switzerland) in the 1930s. White Chocolate Day celebrates this tasty treat and although initially considered not to be true chocolate in a definitive sense, regulations were eventually relaxed to allow for white chocolate which contains sufficient cocoa to be considered to be real chocolate. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/white-chocolate-day/
American Business Women's Day Business Womens Day is celebrated all around the world on September 22nd to commemorate the day when Hilary A. Bufton Junior founded the American Business Womens Association on September 22nd, 1949 along with three other business women from Kansas City. This special day celebrates the contribution that women make in the business world and focuses on ways to give women more equality. The first ever Business Womens Day was celebrated in 1983 when a joint Congressional resolution was passed. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/business-womens-day/
Car Free Day Ever since the first vehicle rolled onto the streets in 1886, the world has had a love-hate relationship with the motor car. Today, with over one billion motor vehicles on the roads around the globe, it sometimes seems as if we cannot escape the pollution, noise and danger that they produce. One day a year is set aside to try and avoiding using cars and cycling, walking or using public transport instead. Car Free Day aims to take the heat off the planet for just one day by encouraging people to be less dependent on their cars and try alternatives. Informal car free days took place throughout the 1990s and the first official, global Car Free Day was launched in 2000. Many big cities, like Bogota and Jakarta, close their central roads on this day and fill them with walking and cycling events, and smaller car-free events take place around the world. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/world-car-free-day/
Dear Diary Day Dear Diary Day hopes to encourage more people to take up a pen and commit the events of their day to paper. Secrets are far safer here than at the fingertips of someone with an axe to grind and access to the internet. This alone contributes significantly to the known psychological benefits of keeping a diary. In the process, proper spelling may also experience a resurgence.https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/dear-diary-day/
Elephant Appreciation Day elephants are certainly worthy of some appreciation from all of us. They are, after all, the largest land mammals in the world and sadly, many species of elephants face the threat of extinction, due to environmental factors and the ivory trade. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/elephant-appreciation-day/
Hobbit Day September 22nd is the Birthday of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, two characters from J.R.R. Tolkiens popular Middle Earth Cycle books (The Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings respectively) in which Hobbits, typically between two and four feet tall and nothing like your usual hero, accomplish great feats and amazing acts of courage. It is in honour of these creatures and those acts that the day is celebrated with events not unlike the birthday party described in the beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/hobbit-day/
