but I am positive that it is photoshopped. The birch trees are a nice way to highlight the markings on the Snowy Owl, but it was not originally in the background, also, the eyes should not be blue. But it is interesting to put it with the birch trees.

The tiger. The timing of that picture was perfect.

And the little baby swans with their parents.

(Note this is the cover of an ornithology journal, so I doubt they'd get it wrong.)

News of the discovery here (today's date, LOL!): http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/17/new-owl-species-philippines_n_1797595.html

Some sources describe the color as blue-grey ... but looks pretty blue to me.

This does seem to be the first blue-eyed owl species reported, AFAICT.

I look forward to Sundays because of you.

I especially loved:
Swan family... Mom, Pop + little ones
Gorgeous blue-eyed owl
Tiger diving into river (What a photo!)
Sweet, mournful-looking, senior-citizen dog gazing at cat who's taken over his/her dog bed (LOL)
Baby elephant in mud
(I wonder if that's the same baby elephant in mud from this story)
