Watched the Memorial Day concert from D.C.

I noticed that the flags of the various branches of the military had clusters of long streamers attached at the top of the flags and wonder if any of you know about that. I watched the beginning of the rerun of the program to see if this was mentioned and I had missed it. But if it was mentioned, I missed it the second time also, smile. There must be a meaning. I have not seen this previously. Thanks!

They are authorized to mark major battles or campaigns of the respective service branches. Search on those terms if you want more info.

The 101st Engineer Battalion has been an active unit since the Revolutionary War. It has a campaign streamer for the shootout at Lexington. That's serious bragging rights.
