I think its one of the best.

If you watch the 1997 blu-ray release, the amazing world that Scott created really comes out. The acting and directing is superb. The cast selection is superb. The examination of what makes us who we are. The music. The darkness of the future world brought on by humans. Our selfishness. Our fear. The brilliance of the human brain. I love this flick. I will probably be watching it from time to time until they lay me to rest. lol.

I am a huge fan of Philip Dick's book, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?," which served as the base material. Ridley Scott's Final Cut version is worth a watch. He says it is the closest to what he wanted to film to look like. I tend to appreciate the classics more than the 70s/80s dystopian films. I put films like Citizen Kane, Dr. Strangelove and The Gold Rush, among others, at the top of my list. Blade Runner is up there in the sci fi genre for me. Its a great film. Don't get me wrong. In fact, you inspired me to watch it again this weekend.
