Don't get me wrong, I think the world is a better place with the Internet...

...but sometimes it irritates the piss out of me.

There is a job board that is run by the school that I just graduated from. I have to get approval of my resume from the administrator before I can apply for any jobs posted on their board. I sent in my resume for approval. It came back three weeks later for me to make suggested changes. I made some changes which greatly improved my resume and I know it works because it has won me a job interview. It came back a week later with the admin saying something to the effect of, "WTF? You didn't make all of the suggested changes." It's been a month now, and I still cannot apply for any jobs on this job board.

I'm trying to play ball with the guy, but I don't know how to do what he wants me to do and keep it to one page which I have to do. This guy is about 100 miles away from me. All of this would be so much easier if I could sit down with him in person and get it sorted out. I'd say we could get it together in less than an hour. But we're probably going to be dicking around on the Internet for another month before my resume is acceptable to him.

Maybe it's worth the drive.

BTW, the job market is starting to pick up in the Dayton area. Moraine found a company to take over the old GM plant off of Springboro Pike. Nearly 1500 jobs to be created there over the next two years.

I was in that Moraine plant every day for 6 years when GM was there. I hauled auto parts for them. It was a sweet gig. When they left it just about killed that town. I'm glad to hear another company is moving in.

If we don't get sorted out after this next round, I'll see if I can give him a call.

we often upload them to google docs and different people can edit - or see your edits real time. If you keep a clean copy of the original, you could upload that and send a link and talk through changes on the phone while he's seeing the updates as they happen.

And I doubt he's available to do that at the same time I am.
