3. I took a vacation on the remains of Route 66 about 10 years ago.

From the California / Nevada border to southern Illinois. It was great fun to try to trace out the old sections of the road, especially the parts that haven't been covered over by interstate highways. My buddy and I took a couple of posed pictures before crossing one old bridge. We wanted documentary evidence that this was a planned part of our trip, in case the bridge collapsed under the weight of our vehicle. It was a pretty shaky looking bridge!
