One of my horses did that to me. We'd ridden a good distance - about five miles - and stopped to let the horses drink from an old mine pit. My horse started pawing and before I knew it, he'd laid down in the water. I was really upset since I was riding with my brand new saddle. The saddle, the horse and I all got soaked and I had to ride back in wet jeans on a wet saddle. Good thing it was a hot day!
It turned out to be a good thing - sitting in that saddle while it dried shaped it to me and that saddle fit my butt better than any other saddle I ever owned. 
before posting that she better watch it as he may decide to lay down and try to roll
