With that kind of attitude and prejudice, I somehow doubt it.

as what you were referring to, the topic. Good to know. Noticed sports in the later Baylor comment. Burning down any place or state is very troubling. Hope that won't happen. Don't want my state burned down either. You might be in VA or PA. I'm in No. VA. (1/2 Virginian, long ties).
Will pass along complaint to any familiar w/ Morgantown, (in our own special language, the way we do).
In the meantime, hope the menace calms down, truly. Thank you for the welcome to DU. Peace.

I will say that there are very friendly people in the area (Points, near Romney).

But there are also a lot of very strange people who live in the middle of garbage and have very bizarre lives............

fracas. My Dad said 'by God' often. How did you arrive in WV, fellow Mountaineer? Referring to WV and being 'blessed' is uncommon. I was raised in Htgn. then moved on to the DC area. Good to hear about 'Morning Morgantown' (Joni Mitchell song). Not boring-that's good! I lived there one semester but went on to finish college in VA & DC. The rivalry between Penn State & WVU was famous then. Nice to hear from you. (I had no idea the link was initially about sports, a recent ball game event at WVU).

I grew up in North Carolina, and lived there until i was just over 30... then I fell in love with a West Virginian (Morgantown native, to be exact) !
We're no longer a couple, but are still the best of friends -- and raising our son together -- and hence i have stayed-put right here.

I waited to go to college until i was almost 40, and have two degrees from WVU. Still enjoy going to on-campus events (mostly the 'Festival of Ideas' guest-lectures and such) and am friends with assorted professors and staff-members. Managing a restaurant right downtown (literally 2 blocks off-campus) keeps me in-tune with the university in ways that simply attending 'alumni events' could never do.

Did you know? The region that appears in your handle has its own DU group, over with the 50 state groups plus DC.

I'm familiar w/ the Appalach. Group, thanks. Good articles. I'm half WV, half VA w/ relatives, friends all over. 4th generation Dem. The DC area is where I've been many years. (Spent a semester in Morgantown, WV-the 'scene of the crime' of this thread apparently. I didn't realize that from the initial post).
Grew up in Huntington, w/ excellent public schools, high standards, disciplined teachers. Am appreciating my foundation there, WV's investment in me & its natural beauty more & more as that region declines & the world seems so messed up. How did you come to this thread, sports, WVU?
