and his singing is good as always. Mix it up with some steel guitar and train noises though, and you've got something special:

Teenage Pregnancy, complete with the girl being disappeared by her religious family: "Samantha Pope" by Honeycrack

It's got a great line about abstinence only (or similarly vague) sex ed:

They could have told her more in class
Instead of mystery
They just used threats and photographs
Dressed as biology



They also had a song about rape called "No - Please Don't", but I couldn't find it on YouTube. I highly recommend the whole album. Great band, stupid name.

Natalie Merchant's always thoughtful, often heart-rending lyrics and one-of-a-kind voice were never better served than when she was a part of 10,000 Maniacs.

Kristin Hersh battled her illness very publicly, and had to fight in court for the right to spend time with her children.
