i hope everyone is having as lovely day as i am
80 degrees and partly cloudy means patio time. a few local 
, the cure in my headphones and the squirrels, jays and sparrows to keep me company. i might even be able to pull off the picnic i wanted to have today. if not, i'll have dinner with jean-luc picard.
it is definitely a good day off.

I've puttered around my house inside and out with my two shadows (puppies Jake and Luna), and have some flowers to plant after the sun goes down. Too hot to be out there now. Now I'm making fresh basil, tomato and mozzarella flatbread to devour with a nice glass of pinot. I just got an electric ice cream maker and am going to make strawbetry gelato later after the mixture sits for awhile. Can't wait - gonna top with chocolate sauce and pecans. 
It's definitely been a fluid, easy and just downright lovely day! 
I hope you get to have your picnic - but dinner with the captain doesn't sound so bad either! cheers!!

Are you serious??? My Jake is a neurotic yet lovable little rat terrier obsessed with squirrels; and my Luna is a a sweet laid-back black lab/pit bull mix who just wants to be friends with every living creature. I don't have a pic online I can post here unfortunately.

rescued as a puppy from death row 9 years ago. Luna is a rhodesian ridgeback-x that I pulled 6 years ago from death row in a Georgia shelter. I did it long distance, and picked out a 3 month old yellow lab female. The vet called a few days later and said when they turned her over to spay her, she was a he, so they neutered her instead. When he arrived, he was the puppy who's picture was directly above her. I had no idea "what" he was, but 4 different people, including 1 who's family bred rhodies, ID'd him as rhodie-X. But it was ok...I remembered thinking I didn't really care which one I got. I just asked the universe to send me the one most in need and who would get along with Jake.
Jake loves everybody. Luna wants to play with everybody. They love each other and are best friends.
Took the day trip out to the Dry Tortugas
Snorkeled the Reef , explored the fort
Now I'm back at home sitting on my couch petting my dog
is the way to live!
