First because at the time the romantic Lead (one of 2) Meryl Streep was actually older than her 3 love interests - Pierce Brosnan (4 years old), Colin Firth (12 years old) and Stellan Skarsgard (2 years older) yet she looked absolutely stunning in that movie and believable as a woman who could have 3 hotties like Brosnan, First and Skarsgard all crushing on her.

Also in general it just looked like everyone in the movie had fun especially the older cast. They knew it wasn't going to be some epic Oscar winning movie but they just had fun with it anyways. I could sense that fun anytime I watched the movie.

that I also love that movie. For all of your same reasons and I am a sucker for a well choreographed dance number.

And I think I could die a happy man if Meryl Streep
would consent to giving me a kiss on the cheek.

and a hug.

I love her in movies and I love her on talk shows.

'Billy Don't Be a Hero'. If you were anywhere near a preteen girl with a record player or shitty AM radio in 1974, it was an unbearable place to be. Gakkkk!

It reminded me of the time many, many years ago when my ex-husband and I made the trip from Miami, FL, to Los Angeles, California to live. We only lived there for a year, and then we went back to Miami.

KLAATU was a sort of 90-day wonder in 1973, although they continued to have commercial success for several years. Quite an interesting band. They were very happy and impressed when Karen and Richard decided to cover the song.
