Lupita nyongo -- Most beautiful woman in the world 2014

Lupita Nyong’o is People magazine’s “Most Beautiful Woman In The World.”

The actress certainly has had a huge year, winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, being named the new face of Lancôme, and recently gracing the cover of Marie Claire.

Gossip Cop heard from insiders that right from the beginning Nyong’o was the “frontrunner,” and basically the only choice for the cover.

Nyong’o tells the magazine, “It was exciting and just a major, major compliment” that she was chosen its “Most Beautiful.”

Quite an accomplishment, to have walked every highway and byway of every city, town and village in the world to find the most beautiful woman in the world.

These lists are ridiculist.

She was saying how young African-American women are being made to feel that only light skin blacks are considered beautiful so she was happy to be a role-model to those who have dark-skin to say 'Hey we are just as beautiful'.

I always found that a bit ironic because growing up I was always made to feel that since I was so pasty white and not tanned that somehow I wasn't as pretty. Only those girls who got deep dark tans were considered gorgeous. Of course I got the last laugh - 30 years later my skin still looks young while some of those girls who teased me now have old wrinkled up skin from all that tanning.

It's just weird that in this country white girls are doing all they can to be darker/tanner and african-american girls are actually doing things to lighten their skin - all because some dumbass out there defined that beauty comes in certain skin tones.

In her interview Lupita pretty much said the same thing about how beauty shouldn't be about how tan or light skin you are but more than that. I think Lancome was smart to snag her for their makeup line!
