Several years ago, we were in Scotland for a week, based in Edinburgh. It seemed as if almost everyone was using the infamous "F word" as just about any part of speech you might care to think of. We were taking a bus one day, and there were 3 teenage girls behind us. I started counting, and in a 30 minute bus ride, they got up to about 150. Their local pronunciation was "Fook" (like spook), which kind of took the edge off.
