I have never been able to listen to "Puttin' on the Ritz" without cracking up since seeing that movie.

Was it that bad, or is it not well known as a Mel Brooks Film? Same with "Men In Tights".

I thought about putting "Space Balls" as my number one, because it's so damn funny. But, the "Puttin' on the Ritz" scene just pushed "YF" up to the top for me. "Men in Tights" is also a great laugh. That's the problem with Mel Brooks films. Too many good ones make it too difficult to choose.

Springtime For Hitler is still the funniest thing I've ever seen on the screen, although the other films mentioned above are big favorites too.

It's an underrated film of his where he plays a rich man who becomes homeless.

Young Frankenstein and The Producers were his funniest with another underrated film, Silent Movie, a distant third.

History of the World had some really funny scenes that could compare head to head with some of the best parts of my favorites but overall seemed less like a cohesive film and more like a collection of loosely tied skits lifted from scripts from other unmade Brooks movies.

It's very close between that and "Young Frankenstein," but since "Blazing Saddles" is such a perfect parody of the RW reaction to Obama the whole time he's been president, I'm going with that one.
