I told Mrs. Obvious about it and we tried to work out the math ("I heard her pray the night Chicago died&quot ... So the singer would've been how old at the time of the song? No, that can't be right, can it?

So I looked it up on Wikipedia. They made it up out of whole cloth from old gangster movies. They even sent a copy to Mayor Daley who was not amused.

Oh well. Still a good song.
