The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsO.K this is what's going to happen, yes it's 1 of those nites, yet I'm taking a dog into my life
Here's the deal. The only dogs I had over my too long life were mid-size, cockers (2) and a Llasa Apso and his mate a pseudo-Llasa Apso and their offspring. Yet now I've got these lovable LITTLE things (a Chihuahua and a mini-Daschund), and I'm telling you these little things (after 4 yrs) just are TOO delicate for a full bodied man like me.
The problem is that I'm OLD and a Cocker/retriever person is too ENERGETIC for someboy like moi, O.K.?!1
However, I looked into the want-ads and there is one who is 1 1/2 yrs old, not a pup, so I've got a (not a head-start) a LEVENING of the field.
And this entity will have the GROOMING that I didn't know how to do before, o-tay?! O.K., here are the little humans who will have to adjust to the addition to the PACK:
However, here is a pic from the newspaper (yrs ago) of an ANGRY cocker, like, "I am ABOVE being in the danged paper for adoptee animals! I won't even DIGNIFY this breach of MY dignity!1"
Well, I can't find the "angry Cocker" pic, so here's BREITBART soaking:

(28,394 posts)hahahaha! Love it!
The cocker/retriever will produce fluff balls bigger than those two little cocktail weinies combined. Buy a good brush and expect to spend your "golden years" brushing, brushing.... and vacuuming!
Can't wait to see the pictures of your new fur-baby. Congratulations!

(23,272 posts)Those cute pups probably won't like the bathtub and I wouldn't allow the laptop within 10 feet of the water.
Otherwise, snuggle down! Little dogs are just so lap-a-licious! They fit in the crook of your arm. You just feel compelled to dress them in little sweaters. Everyone wants to hold them.
Congrats on the new pack members!
