(27,247 posts)There were two of them in my hometown at one time (one was next to the original Wal-Mart Discount City store). One kind of fell on hard times when Wal-Mart moved to a different location, the other hung on for a couple of decades after that before giving up the ghost. I had no idea they were still around.

(50,453 posts)IGA is to grocery what Ace is to hardware: a buying alliance for independently-owned stores. They do okay in places you can't see from Bentonville, like Florence, Mont., or Grandview, Wash.

I also shopped in an IGA near the KY Dam on the western end of the srate.
