1. 44.

7 years in the U.S. Army, and not a single tattoo. Sometimes I wish I had one, as kind of a distinguishing feature, but I'm not really interested in getting one at this stage of my life.

2. Nope. Hate tattoos. I don't understand people wanting to mutilate themselves. n/t

4. I don't mind them but don't like them on me

I generally do not like tattoos.

It is rare that I find any that are tasteful.

There are some that I thought were just sexy, but it is rare and far between.

21. I don't understand people being judgemental dicks about what other people do to themselves.

And don't even try to act like "mutilate" wasn't specifically chosen to offer a value judgment.

3. 44 years old.. have 2 - upper left arm and lower right.. want tons more..

But then, I spent years playing in the metal scene, in the Pac NW no less, so along with pot, they're kinda an occupational hazard.

6. Jeannie's got one on her lower belly:

"Must be this tall for this ride."

Just kidding, we're both ink free.

7. My younger siblings do, some pretty wild.

My kids' generation, don't ask. I sure don't.

Me? No.

Same age as you, California, casual nudity generation, Eel River Hippie.

With hair, don't shave nothing. Hair is sexy, male or female.

There are pictures of me on the internet. I'm only wearing a hat and damn I was hot.

A girlfriend once pierced my ear and I wore a diamond in it. I had a pony tail too. But these days it would scare some of the people I'm forced to work with. I don't have much hair left anyways.

8. Let's see

A Celtic moon on my right shoulder blade, a mood and sun kissing on my left shoulder blade, and a moon, with the sun coming out behind it with 3 stars with my children's intitals on my right hip.

I'm 37. First one I got, I was 23. Second one, I was 25. The last one was when I was 36.

9. Elderly. Of the back-in-the-day military type, each upper arm, minimal.

They are covered by short sleeves. Generally, I dislike the every-square-inch and most designs of today (Get off of my yard!1). To me they represented the rite-of-passage/rebellion/yes-"masculinity" of the past. I've gotten so used to seeing them so much on all exposed arms/necks/legs that it is actually refreshing when UFC wrestlers or statues are all clear. Please, let's keep the psychoanalyses to the minimum, the credentialed, and the applicable professional standards of practice, thanks in advance.

Sort of funny story. When I got my first one, I was sober and anxious about what to expect, and sitting in the waiting area. A young dude burst into the shop very upset, went up to the counter and confronted the (what is now called: ) "artist" who had worked on him. He complained that it was supposed to be a jaguar's head on his upper shoulder/arm but it turned out looking like a POSSUM!1 I seriously fixed on whether to edge out the door and the various possibilities for embarrassment, but finally just stayed. Mine was a standard/easy anchor/USN, so it wouldn't be turning into a POSSUM more than likely. Actually, it turned out somewhat too smallish and eventually is the blueish/blurry type, but given my HITCHCOCK physique, the viewers can be counted on a couple of fingers, not counting the occasional medical practitioners, LUCKY THEM!!!!!1

11. no..

Someday I hope to visit Japan, and when I do, the first stop will either be an Onsen (Bathhouse) or Rotenburo (Outside Bath or Hot spring.) And those with tattoos are not allowed in. (Tattoos are worn by Yakuza, the Japanese mafia, and tend to scare visitors away, so they are not allowed.)

12. Yep. I'm 62 and got my first 3 at 13.

when the only people who had them were Sailors, Marines, 1% bikers and whores.

I was in a facility for delinquents at the time the dude that gave them to me took a needle, wrapped some string around it to control the depth and then used India ink to do the deed. '
'
It was a forearm tattoo with my nickname just inside my elbow. One poke at a time, unlike the multiple needle guns that came later. Hurt like a motherfucker.

I eventually got a cover tattoo for it, and another I had done by the same guy on my shoulder.

Still have the time dot on my hand, on the fleshy part of the hand between the thumb and the knuckle of my index finger on the left hand.

The time dot is for a year locked in the system.

13. i'm 32 and no ink

my husband's 35 and has so many tattoos that i tend to lose track and can never get the same number twice when i try to count them up.

his artist used one of his pieces in his magazine ad for awhile, that was pretty cool. he has, among many others, the meewho and exactly what on his rib cage

and one on his calf that says 'tattoo' (it's an album name).

one of these on each tricep, one jade green and one red.

he has one of the most easily identifiable bodies ever.

14. No

I don't and would never get one that is permanent. I wouldn't mind getting a henna tattoo just for the fun of it.

My first wife had several, one on her breast, one on her back, and got one on her upper arm right before we separated (she had a new one done over the old one on her breast because it was so old and had faded).

16. yep, two

One I got when I was 18 that used to be on my boob but since they migrated south it's now on my chest. It's so old it looks more like a bruise. I can't make up my mind whether to have it removed or done over or if I get another tattoo over it what it should be. The second I got on my hip to cover a birthmark that I always hated looked suspiciously like a big goldfish cracker (people actually thought it was an old tattoo of a goldfish cracker). I was planning to add to it but after a decade still haven't gotten around to it.

And I'm late 40's.

17. I have four tats....

My first was a shamrock on my lower right leg 3 inches above the ankle bone, my 2nd is a rose flower bracelet on my right wrist, my 3rd is a rose flower ring on my right pinky finger, and my 4th is a Green Bay Packer "G" on my left forearm. Love them all, and I'm 62, got all the tattoos in the late 80's and early 90's.

18. My daughter gave me one for Mother's Day the year I turned 50.

It's just above my right ankle and is a representation of the lunar phases.

I'm now 58.

19. 43 and none.

I'm thinking about one and made an appt then chickened out. I'm just afraid I might regret it and then be stuck with it.

I like certain ones on other people.

54 years old here.

To me, personally, it would be like wearing the same shoes every day.
