And I always need a shower to get clean from his bath?

(50,130 posts)I throw them over him BEFORE he can shake when he comes out of the tub. He will shake then, with the towels draped over him. Then I rub him down with towels. I don't get too wet.
It's sure fun! He's very good, and I sing to him the whole time. And then he's HELLA frisky!

He is the only dog I have ever seen that doesn't like water.

(13,081 posts)One at a time, exchanging the clean ones with my wife. One of the dogs enjoys it a little too much (because she doesn't love me, she's in love with me), but overall it's much easier than the normal way. It's the same way we washed our actual, human child when she was a baby, too.
Of course, our dogs are little.

(3,702 posts)Well I may still be weird for other reasons. We have always had large dogs and between trying to keep them in the tub to wash them and the actual washing...it's a losing battle to stay dry. Might as well commit to getting a shower too.

(14,881 posts)You have my deepest sympathy.
In summer, I throw frisbee into lake and dogs follow. Voila! bathed.
In winter, I throw tennis ball into snow bank and dogs follow. Voila! bathed. There is nothing like the fresh air fragrance of a snow-bathed dog!
