3. My dear CaliforniaPeggy!!! Beautiful pictures!!! I especially love the odd formation in the center..

. . ... of the first one. . . . I KNOW you're a sunset lover. Have you ever been to Arizona? They're one of our secret treasures (well, not so secret, I guess). . . . The pinks and lavenders and oranges and purples that are the mainstays of much Southwestern art can be seen almost NIGHTLY in our sunsets. Truly breathtaking and, dare I say it, "common". . . . |

Thank you!
I just was able to see that odd cloud formation from where I was standing, and then I moved to see it much more clearly! I have been to Arizona, but not in a very long time... Alas, I was not exposed to your wonderful sunsets...maybe someday! I would rather say "normal" than "common"! But I hear you! |

5. I've only been to California twice and only once on the coast...

.
. . ... (MiddleFingerMomSis' old house with a view of Catalina Island). . . . Though I had raced to the beach to see many an Atlantic ocean sunrise, I've never seen a Pacific Ocean sunset. When I was in Palos Verdes Estates (the above-mentioned house), it clouded up hours before I flew in and didn't clear up until hours after I left three days later!!!!!!) . . . When I asked MFMS if her house was ON the beach, she told me it was in the hills -- "about $2,000,000 off the beach". . . . . . . |

6. The clouds can be a problem up on the hill, as we call it!
|
It is significantly higher than here, and the clouds are often present there.
The view of Catalina from your sister's house cannot be beat! |

I can easily see why you love her work.
I just dabble, and now and then the skies cooperate! Thanks for coming by and for the link. At first, I thought this was a photo......but I looked at your link, and I see these are paintings. Very well done! |

I had to share! We haven't had any pretty sunsets in a while...
And I know you've already had some Winter weather there...snow and all... Glad I could help with that! |

I love sunsets! There's the beauty, but there's a poignancy there as well that has it's own beauty, if that makes sense.
I noticed that here in Iowa, winter sunsets have seemed to be more colorful lately; I don't know why, it just surprises me. Maybe it's just this year, cause it's been very warm this winter. Thanks again, sunsets are nature's way of making up for a lot of stresses elsewhere IMO. |

You're very welcome!
I really don't know what makes sunsets colorful some times, and not others...except here, we get the colors when the smog blows out over the ocean. They sure do relieve stress! |
