1. Met the man several times at SciFi Conventions. He's a tall dude.

Like three inches taller than me, and I'm six feet.

I did that with folding chairs when I was younger.

4. I do sometimes. I've got a tricky hip and in low-backed chairs it's the only way I can get on them.

5. I remember my brother and his friends doing that maneuver back in the 1960s.

I thought it was something all the cool kids did, but I was much younger and had more than a little hero worship for my big brother.

I even tried it a time or two but it doesn't work well when you're a 7-year-old girl wearing a dress.
