in all seriousness one of the many reasons that cats are my favorite animals is that they have an amazing array of sounds -- about 100 distinct ones (dogs only make about 10). I think I've heard them all, from the purr to the chirp to the friendly meow to the angry yeowl to everything in between. Between that and their eye contact with humans they are incredibly expressive.
Tabby is waaay different than Russian Blue and Siamese is almost a language to itself.
My Russian Blue ended up at the pound and ended up in the psych ward. When I came to rescue her she was doing the "I'm so glad to see you" trill. Problem is, I'd never heard her trill before so I wasn't 100% sure it was the right cat. However, with me there, she'd settled right down so they could get a proper look at her ear tattoo and identify her properly. We got her chipped the following week.
