1. I really don't know how to tell you this, so I'll just come out and say it. Here goes...

I'm sorry, but you don't have cats. Those are called "Dogs."

2. Are you kidding me?!? The only sound that my cat will always respond to is

the sound of cat food being prepared. Other than than, she answers when she wants to. My wishes have little to do with the equation.

5. I don't have any cats right now, but my brother's cat comes when called/whistled for.

Of the cats I had growing up, only one would come when called... I don't remember whistling for him though. I think he just knew his name.

7. My one did, but then she thought she was a dog anyhow.

Her name was Cashmere and boy do I miss her. She was total queen of the house. A Maine Coon mixed with tabby -- Imagine all that Maine Coon size/hair stuffed onto a petite tabby body. Kinda looked like a 500lb woman walking around on stilleto heels. She lived to be 17yo. One afternoon she came to me crying to be picked up and she died in my arms - just went to sleep. I was so overcome by the complete trust she put in me. We adopted her when she was only 5 wks old.

She was also the only cat that I ever knew who would play fetch just like a dog. She played fetch better at 12yo than my 5yo german shepherd does now. She also would "ehhh" at the door (she didn't really ever meow).

8. 4 cats -- none come when whistled,

called, kiss-kiss'd, or finger-snapped, and even the sound of food hitting the dish only causes a nonchalant meander through the kitchen. These cats perform nothing for no one -- ever. But one of them will bring a toy and drop it at someone's feet to initiate play.

12. My boy does.

Well, I don't whistle, but he comes when I call him...and when I don't. And, when I'm trying to walk down the hallway carrying the laundry basket, and when I'm trying to make dinner, and when I'm on my computer...

My girls just look at me like I'm high.

13. I can't whistle, but they come when I call them.

Especially if they think food might be involved.

19. Same here

Making noises with food wrappers gets a faster response though. He also seems to know when I'm taking a nap somehow. He will nap in the other room until I take a nap. Then he decides to join me.

15. Each of my five come when I call their name.

And the two siblings in my sigline play fetch.

As soon as I get home, after jumping all over me, thet run to their toy pile and pick out their favorite rattley mouse, drop it in my lap, and wait for me to throw.

That goes on for hours.

18. My cat Mr. Lucky comes when I call his name

I named him Mr. Lucky because I live way out in the country and he suddenly appeared at my house. At first, Mr. Lucky and my dog were fighting like mad. My dog came running thru the yard with Lucky stuck on his face - both of them dripping with blood. I call him Mr. Lucky because he has such a spoiled life now; he really lucked out coming to my house. Not only does he come when I call his name, he follows me around. If my dog and I go for a hike, he comes too. Now my dog is Lucky's biggest protector.

20. I don't know how to whistle, so the short answer is no.

But every one of my cats, past and present came when they were called by name. I don't know how I worked that out, but I have been very fortunate.

21. My son could whistle

For Bob, and he would come. About the only nice thing that bad kitty boy ever did, god rest his bad cat soul.
