Pics from a Safari in India. Dial up warning...

My daughter is in India on business. While there she went on a safari, she said the animals were very close to them..here are some pics, I will use some of her captions too.

First animal on the safari! It's Jurassic Park out here!!!!

Approaching the first lion....

Yes,I was that close....

Posing for the camera.

Here come da bears!

No, this is not fake. This dude was crazy. He just stood there staring, not moving, not blinking, but chewing his damn leaves.

He laid down, and he clearly was not going to move

Still cleaning the road.

Yes that's a snake around her

2. Cool stuff...

that lion looked way, way too close for my comfort level. They were in closed vehicles, I hope?

8. This is a shot of them...

in front of the one of the vehicles they took, hard to tell. She told me last year a bear tried to climb in one of the jeeps or whatever it is they were driving. The had armed people with them.

She said the one tiger laid in the road and licked it for about 15-20 minutes and they had to sit and wait till he was done.

One day I want to go on an African safari.

14. Why does it look like the white tiger is in a cage?

I was under the impression that these animals were in the wild.

15. It was an 'enclosed' safari...

not like an African safari. The tiger laying in the road was in front of the vehicle my daughter was in.

This is where she was: Bannerghatta National Park Grand Safari

16. "enclosed" safari? We call it a "zoo" in the US. Lions on "safari" in India?

17. Yes, you were close to the animals..

if you got out of the vehicle you would have been right there out in the open with the tiger laying on the road. All the animals weren't in cages many were roaming as you can see by the pictures of the lion, tiger and even the bear.

Maybe that's why they call what they do. I'm not sure. The name is there in the post there are a lot of nice pics on google if you wanted a better look at it. These are just some my daughter took.

18. A red-haired lion!

Did he use Clairol? Or maybe he's Irish?

I always thought lions' manes were more brown.
