people don't seek to be rich and famous anyway. But, I am glad for the chance to hear that and honestly, her story...

I felt as if she had been touched by Janis' Angel Wings.

her children and her husband. It was a ... blessing.

restored my faith for those minutes.

I hate this media creation art BS 'reality' crap....This type of spoon fed tripe is one of the major reasons the music industry is ruined....and if you like tripe I apologize...just picture the most vile thing you can eat.

28. Saw Janis at West Palm Beach Pop Festival in '70

She was so totally awesome, funny, and smart and could sing like there was no tomorrow. She was telling us this tale of how she got treated by the Palm Beach police just that day and it was so smooth and effortless and funny as hell. You'd have thought she rehearsed it for weeks, but she was riffing about something that had happened just hours previously. One of my friends had never "gotten" her, but after two songs he was a fan for life. You really had to see her in concert, she was so totally live wire and on point.

I liked the "talking break" - Africa, Casablanca - LOL!!!

I don't want to dis the singer in the OP, she's good, but Janis is from a completely different dimension. A completely different space-time continuum. And that dimension is totally, completely, painfully real. The OP singer's performance had me cringing with the cuts to her family and the smarmy judges. Good, very good, but not real.
