2. I moved to SE Pennsylvania around 1980-81 and lived in an condo complex...

... for a year or two without meeting a single neighbor.
.
One night, we got 24" of snow and were all out in the parking lot the next morning, helping to
shovel each other out. I met several folks that day who became and stayed good friends.

It's a GREAT socializing event.

4. Sunday night, I had to go out in the midst of a storm to pick up my daughter

at the bus stop. I got there OK, but my light truck just wouldn't take the grade on the hill on the way home. Two guys got my truck going again, the pizzeria let me park the truck there over night, and another guy gave us a ride home in his 4 wheel drive sedan.

The next morning, I walked down, picked up the truck and drove home on bare pavement!

Or did you spread it around some?

9. I'm in Rochester... we don't get much of the lake effect.

It's a bummer I miss *some* of the snow.
