I'm not going to diet. I'm just going to eat better, healthier.

I'm just going to remove the crappy foods from my diet and focus on eating healthier. Diets are too restrictive and as soon as you stop, you put the weight back on.

So, I'm going to make sure that I eat a healthy breakfast in the morning with a fresh fruit snack in the morning. Eat more vegetables at lunch and dinner, and eliminate sugar entirely.

1. I started my resolution July 5 and have stuck to it....

Given I'd already had six months under my "belt", I was motivated not to break with my eating/exercise patterns and I'm proud to say that I didn't...

I still have quite a ways to go, but while I might add some weight training to my daily 4.5 mile walks, my moderately low carb/low glycemic index diet is working for me. Sugar and too much/wrong carbs are a problem for me and I've finally decided they just aren't worth it.

To those determined to start anew in a couple of days, best of luck... I'll be rooting for you (and for me)

2. Having a plan is half the battle!

Carrying it out is the other half.

Best of health to you!

3. Basically how I lost about 40 pounds in my 50's...

Eat smarter, not more restrictively.

4. Oh, and only drink water and coffee...

No sodas, of any kind and coffee does not include lattes and mochas.

5. Sounds like a good plan.

It's pretty much what every reputable doctor recommends. Lifestyle changes over diets. I hope it works out for you.
