Short of You-Know-Who himself, Umbridge was the most cruel and sadistic of all the characters in the Harry Potter series.

Actually, scratch that - Voldemort was psychopathic in such a way that he didn't care about the pain he caused to people. Umbridge reveled in her torments!

I always thought Ayn Rand would make a perfect James Bond villainess, complete with slinky dress and long cigarette holder. According to those who encountered her: she was vain, egotistical, arrogant, self-centered and cruel; all perfect qualities for a villainess, real or fictional.

The followers of her 'philosophy' have made life a living hell for most Americans; another qualification for listing her as a villainess.
