The Green Mile. PROBABLE spoilers.

Do you think John Coffey may have been hundreds of years old?

1. I think so. I read the book too,

and if I remember correctly, it was as vague as the movie in that respect (but feel free to correct me - it's been years).

I think you can infer from the bit about the mouse's long life that John Coffey had also had an extremely long life.

Michael Clark Duncan ftw.

3. The Tom Hanks character also has a long life.

From getting "a little of what I am"

A general mouse life span is maybe 2 or 3 years so the implications are horrifying for the Hanks character.

2. I never thought of that, but it's a fascinating idea -- he may very well have been.

He was such an enormous innocent child, despite all the horrors he lived with.

7. Michael Clark Duncan played that part so well.

I've loved This story since King first published it. He published it in tiny little paperbacks a few chapters at a time that were released every month or so...

It was torture.

4. Yes, there also seems to be an allusion to Jesus Christ

Initials JC, a wanderer who performed Miracles and unjustly executed.

5. Did you see his next-to-last scene, when watching the movie?

The projector cast a halo around his head.
