Attendance is so low that they just don't bother trying.

No longer hear about schools closing for deer hunting anymore.

We spend all of September and October creating "independent studies" that never get done for students taking a week off during bow season, then rifle season.

Lots of kids take a week off as long as they get their homework from their teachers. I don't think many actually do the homework.
