Kindle fire question

I'm about to buy myself a Kindle Fire HD. I've been saving for one for awhile and I just had a quick question.

They say it comes with a USB charging cable? I have a USB plug adapter that came with my cell phone, would I be able to use that charger for it?

1. The Kindle Fire HD uses a micro-B USB connector for charging.

Amazon says:
We recommend against using other USB 2.0 (micro-B connector) charging cables as they may or may not work and run the risk of damaging your device.

2. Well I wouldn't use a car charger or adapter, but the cable should be fine.

The USB standard is pretty solid with respect to voltage levels, especially from a computer port. Besides, doesn't it come with a cable?

I have a USB wall adapter from my cell phone (and a car one too) where the cord that comes with the device plugs into the USB. Would that work?

Trying to save myself $20 here.

4. I don't know. I'd expect it to, but try it at your own risk. As for adapters...

... I'm just glad that the cell phone industry standardized the chargers. It was a royal pain in the ass to have 30 different flavors of connectors.

5. It says on the Kindle site you could use a wall adapter from 1st generation Kindle

That's what I have for my Kindle Fire. BTW, using the wall adapter seems to charge it must faster than plugging it into the computer. Supposedly the cable they supply you with is a higher voltage than a standard phone cable, which I have used in a pinch, but takes forever to charge the Kindle.
