SWEET! That's one powerful horn section! HopeHoops Nov 2012 #1
Indeed. One of the best rhythm sections in the business. Lydia has a great voice too. bluesbassman Nov 2012 #2
Well, we didn't have vocals, but I did jazz under Buzz Jones and Rex Mitchell. HopeHoops Nov 2012 #3

Kind of the Bay Area's poor man's Janice (but no where near the chops). All around great band, definitely worth digging into deeper for the uninitiated.

Tenor under Buzz, Bari under Rex. We kicked ass at every damn solo and ensemble festival we went to. I also scored in sax quintet, brass quintet (on tuba), and solo tuba. Once you have it in you, you can't get it out - sort of like certain social diseases.

I can still wail like nobody's business, but she needs it more than I do now. It's still got all of it's original pads and springs and sings like no bird I've ever heard. I miss playing, but I didn't get her out enough to justify keeping her as mine. My daughter does her greater service.
