Your evening SQUEE!!

My wife and daughter found her/him out in the parking lot tonight. They are going to take it to the vet in the morning for a checkup.

4. What if (s)he's a lost kitty?

I wish there were a known place in each city/town/area to report lost or found pets.
We have our town's "Patch" where you can post a notice (local news on internet, in case you haven't encountered it yet); I have seen messages on Craigslist L & F; and some county pounds will put your name & number on their list of found animals if you want to keep a found pet at your house.

6. The worst part is waiting for the feline leukemia test to register.

It's sort of like waiting for a pregnancy test to register but with a disturbingly different outcome being possible. Fortunately, the barn kittens we adopted both came back negative. Good luck.
