OK - while you were all glued to the TV from 7-9, I painted my first picture (don't laugh)...

My wife bought a Groupon thing - you go to this place and drink wine and the instructor leads you through making a painting....at least it's colorful! Really fun - I don't think it will be the last time we go and do something like this - very therapeutic!

hey - here I am - just realized they have it on their FB page - me - upper left (only male in a class of 30!), wife lower left, daughter lower right

8. OMG! That is amazing.

I am really impressed.

I just took up the clarinet and am using my right brain for perhaps the first time in my life.

Big congratulations. I hope you keep it up, friend.

12. Awesome!

My wife and I and her mother did a similar class a while back. We enjoyed it and I want to go again - but ours didn't have wine _ i'll have to sneak in a camel-back next time...

13. What an amazingly COOL thing your wife did -- bringing you all together as a family for that!!!

.
.
.
Mary Delany (1700-1788) is probably the most well-known decoupage artist in the
world -- yet she didn't start using that medium until she was 71 years old. You're
getting an early start by comparison.
.
.
.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Delany
In 1771 in her early 70s and as a way of dealing with her grief, Mary began to create
cut out paper artworks (decoupage) as was the fashion for ladies of the court. Her
works were exceptionally detailed and botanically accurate depictions of plants. She
used tissue paper and hand colouration to produce these pieces. She created 1,700
of these works, calling them her "Paper Mosaiks (sic)", from the age of 71 to 88,
when her eyesight failed her. During this time, Mary made nearly 1,000 of the paper
flowers.

.
.
.
I would consider displaying those three paintings on your wall as a tryptich if I were you.
.
.
.
How cool!!!
.
.
.
For part of my long college career, my major was Early Childhood Education... and
I took both an undergrad and a postgrad Children's Lit course (LOVED them!!!) Both times,
I was the only male in a class of about 20-25 students.
.
.
.
You and I are no dummies, my friend.

14. I was thinking that....felt very fortunate indeed (then again, with two cool girls

and a most magnificent wife, I always do!)

16. Sounds like fun.

You could hang the three of them together as a triptych.
