having known at least one person that rescued raptors, is that the birds have imprinted on their human rescuers. Thus, they can get quite close or even be allowed to hold them. Now, I haven't watched the rest of the videos, so I don't know if that's the story, but it would also explain why they don't see the cats as potential meals.

Still pretty amazing, whatever the real story is
