Jimmy Kimmel told parents to tell their kids they ate their candy. (Original Post) Baitball Blogger Nov 2012 OP
I'm sorry, but that's just psychological child abuse. It isn't funny. HopeHoops Nov 2012 #1

Kids take these things very seriously. It might be funny to watch a guy cannonball into an ice-covered swimming pool, but freaking out children like that is just cruel. Call me a prude, but it's cruel.

Honestly, I don't like those "we ate your candy" pranks either.

The version that we play in our house involves actually picking up the bowl full of candy and implying that I'm going to eat it all right now. In our case, the kids love it because they see the absurdity of it and can tell that I'm not serious.

I would never make them think that I'd actually eaten it, though.

But the video was so worth watching for those three old souls at the end of the video. I teared up.

Shit like that is child abuse. I went through my own experience with child abuse and swore not to do it to my own kids. I didn't do it. They're good kids and free from the images that haunt me every fucking night.

I made promises to myself about how I wanted to raise my family, too, based on my childhood experiences. I just never expected to find interference coming from where it did come.

We'd been together two and a half years. I don't remember what the fight was about, but I know my last words to her were "FUCK YOU!"

My car was faster.

I came back around and found her car wrapped around a telephone pole. I'm still a stain on that community, and I deserve to be. That incident has haunted me since it occurred in 1982 and it will stay with me through eternity. It was my fault. Everyone said it was hers for following me, but I refuse to accept that. I fucked up. I killed her.

Probably in your twenties. It's time to forgive yourself. Not that you'll listen.

had I raised a fuss. I certainly wouldn't have thrown anything at my mother lest she say those dreaded words "Just wait till your father gets home!".
