3. I was so surprise I could get Shiner Bock here in North Carolina
|
But only a couple varieties.
I'd love to try the prickly pear one. |

I visited the brewery in Shiner, TX a few years back and found that mixed six-pack (with the prickley pear) when I was working in North Carolina

6. Prickly Pear? Cool! Never seen that one here

I love the Black Lager. Unfortunately, I can only get it here in the Family Reunion 12-pack, which only has two of them. I have tried all the rest of those, and liked them all.

5. You are correct, sir.

Shiner Bock and a chicken fried steak is a splendid thing indeed.
(I grew up in Texas) When I moved to Florida I taught myself to make a passable chicken fried steak but I have to depend on those heroic titans of the interstate, Over The Road Truckers, to bring me the Bock and complete my recreation of youthful meals past. |

7. Shiner Boch is the perfect thing to order at 30,000+ feet - it foams over - free second.
|
Every time I've ordered it on a plane, it has started to foam. The flight attendant always offers another one, which of course will also foam over (2 for 1 deal there). Very little of it is lost to the foam, so you basically score. It's also a way around the 2-drink limit on long flights because technically you've only ordered one. So by the end of the flight you can score 4 beers for the price of 2. Give it a try!
