brain function definitely fits my two girls.

Luckily we have a doggy door that leads out to a fenced yard so they can go in and out as they please.

Even then, it's still in and out all day long as they try to decide what they want to do.

3. my dog paws the door when he wants out

i inevitable let him back in and withing 5 mins my wife is reflexively responding to the pawing of the door and lets him back out
