All you need to do is catch a little motion out of the corner of your eye and you're on it. Then again, if you get a direct hit it's going to be time to dig out the vacuum.

put a piece of pantyhose over the end of the sucking hose and secure with rubber band.

That way the pill will get sucked up but not go into the bag or wherever.
